League Championship Series Underway. Rangers with 1-0 lead, Snakes and Phils set to begin tonight.
We
are down to the final four teams in MLB Playoffs and League Championship Series
action got underway on Sunday. Let’s recap that game and take a look at what’s
to come.
Texas Rangers vs. Houston Astros:
These division rivals began the ALCS on Sunday night with the Rangers coming
out on top 2-0 in Game One. Rangers starting pitcher Jordan Montgomery was
dominant, going six and a third innings, allowing only five hits, one walk, and
striking out six. The Rangers received offensive contributions from catcher
Jonah Heim and outfielder Leody Taveras. Astros starter Justin Verlander was
also brilliant going six and two thirds' innings, allowing six hits, two runs,
and striking out five. Game two is set for Monday afternoon at 4:37 EST on
Fox. The Rangers will give the ball to Nathan Eovaldi (2-0, 1.32 ERA) and he
will be opposed by Astros left-hander Framber Valdez (0-1, 10.38 ERA)
Arizona Diamondbacks vs.
Philadelphia Phillies. Two teams that made it into the postseason as wild card
teams are set to begin the NLCS on Monday night in Philadelphia. Arizona has
yet to be defeated in the postseason, while Philly has only suffered one loss
in their six games of postseason play. These two teams faced off seven times in
the regular season, with Philadelphia winning four of the seven games. Arizona
will give the ball to Zac Gallen (2-0, 3.18 ERA) and he will be opposed by Zack
Wheeler (1-0, 2.08 ERA) Game One is set for 8:07 EST on TBS.
