Rangers win first World Series in franchise history!
For the first time in their 63-year franchise history, the Texas Rangers have won the World Series! They defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-1 in the series, capturing the World Series title. Here is how they did it.
Texas was powered by lights out pitching and their offensive trio of Marcus Semien, Corey Seager, and Adolis Garcia. To go along with these three offensive superstars, starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi tied the postseason record for wins by a pitcher in the postseason with five. Outside of Texas's 11-7 victory in Game Four, the bullpen was dominant for the Rangers. The Diamondbacks struggled to find offense in the series outside of Tommy Pham and Ketel Marte.
For the Rangers, Corey Seager became only the fourth player in MLB history to win the World Series MVP two times in a career. Seager, who signed with the Rangers two years ago, joined Reggie Jackson, Sandy Koufax, and Bob Gibson. If you know anything about baseball, you know that is some pretty good company.
With the Rangers winning their first ever World Series, the list of teams to never win one has narrowed down to five. The Milwaukee Brewers, Tamp Bay Rays, Seattle Mariners, Colorado Rockies, and San Diego Padres have still yet to win one in their respective franchise history.
